Format: Standard Constructed (Swiss rounds followed by a cut to a top 8 single elimination rounds)

1st - Worldwake 24 booster packs

Wizards now offers a new BYE STRUCTURE. 3 round Byes to GP KL will be awarded to top X finishers in the tournament, depending on the number of participants.

8 – 32 players ==> 1 winner with 3 Byes
33 – 64 players ==> Top 2 with 3 Byes
64 – 128 players ==> Top 4 with 3 Byes
129 + players ==> Top 8 with 3 Byes

For example, if there is more than 32 players, but 64 or less, the top 2 finishers will win the 3 Round Byes.

Au Yong (Boss Naya) defeats 2-? Zairuddin Zulkarnain (Leech Jund)
Mohd Nasir M. Afiq (Boss Naya) defeats 2-? Eddy Ng (Kchapin Kontrol)
Chye Yian Earthquake in Haiti Landflood in Msia Hsiang (Kchapin Kontrol)loses 2-0 to Hiew Chee Chong (Boss Naya)
Chong Siew Fung (Naya Lightsaber) loses 2-0 to Carlson Chan (U/W Kontrol)

Semi Finals
Carlson Chan defeats Hiew Chee Chong 2-0, with the latter dying to his own double manabarbs in a tight game.
Mohd Nasir M. Afiq defeats Au Yong 2-1 in longggg tight games but Afiq's Collared Cunning Sparkmage (CCS) making the decider a one-sided affair.

Afiq and Carlson win the 3-round byes 

Most represented decks this time around were Boss Naya, Jund, U/W, Esper and Grixis control Variants. Surprisingly none to very little White Weenie, and barely any Boros (if at all any).

In other news, Siew Fung's deck registration sheet has the nicest handwriting. His awesome neat cursive letters beat my own clearly printed ones by a slight margin.

QJ I have the decklists, if you wanna post them up at your site I can fax em to you, but they generally follow the posted lists almost to the letter.

Hmm I was watching the final game and unless each player's field was on the opposite end of the table....

Au Yong basically had 1 reliquary who had been oblivion ring'd and another small creature, Alif had 2 Bloodbraids, Cunning Sparkmage with Collar, Reliquary and Stoneforge Mystic.

This is for Chee Choong:

Remember that you had a Lightning Bolt in hand with double Manabarbs in play, and Carlson was at 4 life with you at 3?  You could've won if you had another Bolt in your deck (ignore this if you didn't have a Bolt left ).

Assuming 2 Bolts in hand:

Tap 2 lands, 4 Manabarbs trigger go on the stack.
THEN, use Red mana to cast 2 Lightning Bolts; both go on the stack.

This way, the Bolts will resolve BEFORE the Manabarbs triggers, as opposed to announcing the spell first where the Manabarbs triggers will resolve first.

If you did this, no matter how many Negates Carlson had in his hand, his Manabarbs triggers will always resolve before your Bolt/triggers, killing him before you.

I didn't mention this to you yesterday because I wanted to reconfirm the ruling first.  Found it thanks to magiccards.info:

I dunno, Chee Chong seemed convinced that he can't win, I was just pointing out the fact that if he had one more Lightning Bolt in his deck, he cannot possibly lose from that point.

E.g.:
1. If Carlson tries to counter both Bolts, tapping 2 Islands and 2 Chalices, he still takes 4 Barbs damage before Chee Chong does, and dies.
2. If Carlson only counters one, tapping 1 Island and 1 Chalice, he takes 2 Barbs and 3 Bolt damage, and dies.

Hence, if I knew I had 1 more Bolt in the deck, I'd just draw-go until I draw the Bolt, then cast both for the win.
Of course, like I said, this argument is moot if there are no more Bolts in the deck.  Even so, this was still a pretty good exercise for my brain, haha!
